Kurisu Makise (牧瀬紅莉栖, Makise Kurisu) is a young and extremely talented neuroscience researcher. She is the main heroine of the series and her route is the route that will lead to the "true" and complete ending of the game.
Appearance
Kurisu is an 18-year-old female with ginger red hair (red in the anime) and gray pupils. She prefers to let her hair hang loose.
She has an unusual fashion statement, with her outfit being composed of a white long sleeve dress shirt that is blue colored at the rims of the collars. Her shirt is tucked into a pair of black shorts, that is held up by a white belt with a gold buckle. She also wears a red tie that reaches to the point of her belt, as well as a long khaki sweater that reaches to her upper thigh, and has black and white straps at the end of both sleeves and the rim. She has a habit of wearing her sweater so that the back portion dangles to her back and is only kept from falling by a pair of belt-like accessories on her arms. She also wears black long socks, and a pair of black boots to complete her outfit. This is a modified variant of the Ayamein Highschool for Girls uniform, where she studied on a foreign visitation program.
Personality
Unlike people of her age, Kurisu has shown a more mature attitude, usually calm and collected even when someone is acting tense in front of her. However, she can also show a much more timid side at times. She has been described as a tsundere by Rintaro Okabe time and again. She has proven to be greatly annoyed by Okabe's paranoiac tendencies, and flustered because of him in certain situations. Though she's hesitant to admit it, she's a frequent user of the text board @Channel, donning the identity "KuriGohan and Kamehameha". Rintarou likes to trick her into admitting this habit, much to her chagrin. When posting on @channel her personality is noticeably different, as she often uses Netspeak or emoticons to communicate and her posts generally much less mature than her usual dialogue. She soon develops feelings for Okabe.
Nicknames
- Okabe gives Kurisu several nicknames over the course of Steins;Gate, only calling her by her real name in serious situations. Kurisu's most frequent nicknames are 'Assistant' or 'Cristina' (by adding '-tina' to 'Kurisu'), but Okabe also calls her 'Zombie', 'Money Bag', or 'CelebSev'. Mayuri also calls Kurisu 'Cris-chan' after hearing Okabe refer to her as Cristina.
